Vintage 2023

Juveniles is an unoaked GSM blend produced from old vines. It has an intense aroma with concentrated flavours of blackberry, earth and Asian spices. The length and texture make this great drinking now!

Juveniles is a 'cult' Parisian wine bar run by eningmatic ex-pat Englishman, Tim Johnston. He's been in Paris more than twenty years and is a passionate promoter of the Rhone Valley and it's wines, particularly individualist, quality minded producers. Dave Powell hit it off with Tim over the years, eventually making a wine exclusively for his wine bar in 1999. In keeping with Tim and Dave's love of Rhone Valley varietals and the fact that they are equally at home in the Barossa,the blend constitutes old-vine Grenache, Mataro (Mourvedre) and Shiraz and was elevaged entirely in stainless steel.

    Terrific bar wine. Lots of fruit and substance but not a wine that needs to be cellared. Can be consumed with most food such as beef or Italian.

    Great drinking wine which has been described as a "bar wine". Is this a great red wine for cellaring, discussing and disecting - no! But is it a great drinking red with lots of fruit, plenty of body and backbone and yet reasonably dry - you bet! Just my opinion of course but the family sure has had some good roast beef with a bottle or two 0f the Juvenilles!
