Pale and clear and bright and white in colour. A star on a clear night. Honeysuckle and musk perfume - and it is a perfume. Heady. Beyond simple aromatics. Rose water, geranium, white lilac flower. Dragon fruit and citrus flowers. Buddha’s Hand zest; lime quartered but not pressed; ruby grapefruit; bath salts and Epsom salts for good measure. Zephyr-like qualities. There’s some handsome textural grip at the very front of the palate, but then intense citrus fruit flavours establish a concentrated core. Then explodes apples and green herbs and lime and the sort of taste sensation some ladies can get from drinking a salt-rimmed glass of icy Margarita on a hot Summer’s evening. This Riesling has a stainless steel quality in terms of its purity and drive. Long, true, and the epitome of the Eden Valley’s wonderful Riesling vines.
